Submissions

Thank you for considering Root Literary. Before submitting your work, please visit our Meet the Team page for details about each agent’s profile and specific tastes. Queries should be submitted via QueryTracker unless otherwise specified. If an agent is closed to queries, you’ll be notified on their QT page (linked in the table below).

We ask that you submit your query to one Root Literary agent at a time. Each agent has their own turnaround time, which will be automatically displayed on their QT form after you submit your work. If you haven’t received a response within the quoted timeframe, you’re welcome to withdraw your query and submit your work to another agent at Root Literary.

If you receive an offer of representation from another agency, please notify the agent considering your work as soon as possible.

We do not accept screenplays or poetry submissions. Please do not pitch the agency via mail, phone, or in-person unless you have an appointment scheduled with one of our agents at a conference or other event.
