Our History
Founded in 2017 by owner Holly Root and agent Taylor Haggerty, Root Literary represents award-winning, bestselling, and emerging creators across adult and children's literature. The team draws on decades of collective experience gained from work at literary and talent agencies, Big Five publishers, foreign rights, marketing, publicity, and tech start-ups to position books to break out in the competitive publishing market and to identify opportunities in film/TV, merchandising and brand partnerships, and international markets.

Our connections to talent agencies, managers, and entertainment lawyers allow us to matchmake clients with the perfect co-representative for their dramatic rights, and our foreign/translation rights are handled by a dedicated international agent who sells direct in most major territories.
